Green Gables Bed and Breakfast

       A 1-story Victorian plantation townhouse built in 1899 by Estelle Ducournau and Andrew Jackson Plauche’ as a wedding gift for their favorite niece, located in the Historic District within walking distance to downtown amenities and the University.

After being restored to her original grandeur, including ornate fireplaces, twelve foot ceilings, stained glass windows, and wrap around front gallery, she opened her doors to B&B guests. 18th and 19th century antiques decorate her rooms. Original art by B&B host, painter, and sculptor Dr. Ed Kollar, adorns her walls. Guests are excited to find that most of his works are available for sale!

The Gallery Room

The Gallery Room has its own private entrance from the front gallery and a private bath with shower. 

The Wooden Shutter Room

The Wooden Shutter Room, named that because of the nicely restored wooden shutters that adorn the windows, is located at the end of the central hall and has a private bath with a tub/shower.

Camellia Cottage

If you follow the camellia-lined driveway back through the tropical New Orleans-style courtyard, you will find Camellia Cottage- a romantic retreat, complete with an inviting fireplace, kitchenette, living room, bedroom, and a full bath.
